Tour Of Remodeled Homes 2016
A brief overview of our award winning entries in this year's tour
WINNER Best In Tour
This growing Greendale family needed more space! They loved their location but had quickly outgrown their home. So, J&J enhanced their home with much needed living space, as well as entertaining areas inside and out.
In the main living space, a double-sided fireplace was removed from the center of the home to give an open floor plan and allowed for expansion of the kitchen. The kitchen also features an 8-foot island with prep sink, custom cabinets, Cambria and granite countertops, marble tile backsplash, and a tray ceiling with reclaimed wood. Seating was added with an additional breakfast bar and a custom window bench.
An addition added a fifth bedroom, jack and jill bathroom, and master bath. While 900 sq. ft. of the back of the home was removed and rebuilt to turn the original crawl space below into a full basement. The lower level now boasts a game room, exercise room, theatre room, and guest room with bath to accompany the remodeled family room and children’s playroom.
The backyard now features a patio with wood burning fireplace, in ground pool, pool house with gas fireplace, and full bathroom.

Award Winning Interior and Exterior Remodel
A complete interior and exterior remodel began by removing the wall between the kitchen and living room fully opening up the main living space. Trusses were removed and replaced on that area of the home and portions of the exterior walls were also reframed to allow for the addition of new larger windows and skylights. All new awning windows were installed throughout the home to enhance the exterior coastal feel, as well as new siding, stone belt line, and front porch. New landscaping and a stamped concrete patio with built in fire pit complete the outdoor living space.
An addition on the back of the home allowed for a larger kitchen, first floor laundry, and a larger master suite with master bathroom and walk in closet. The addition also gave the family direct access to the already attached garage that originally had no access through the home.
A gas fireplace was installed in the living room and oak wood floors were installed and refinished throughout. Custom painted cabinets in the kitchen were topped off with quartz countertops.

Award Winning First Floor Remodel
In this home, J&J Contractors was able to reconfigure and remodel the existing layout to better suit this family’s needs. A previous addition to the home was outdated and left the home with mostly unusable space. J&J was able to take this previous wasted space and transform it into a new master bedroom and bathroom, while also creating an eat-in area for the kitchen. The outdated kitchen was gutted and updated with semi-custom cabinets, new countertops and lighting.
The exterior of the home was given more dimension and a new breath of fresh air with the addition of a covered porch, new windows and siding.
